Manager – Merchant & Transaction Monitoring

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our team as Manager – Merchant & Transaction Monitoring. The role will focus on safeguarding the acquiring platform from fraudulent activities by monitoring transaction trends, engaging with merchants, and coordinating with banking partners to ensure compliance with network regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor merchant and transaction activity to identify suspicious trends, patterns, or anomalies.
  • Detect and investigate potential merchant collusion or fraudulent activity.
  • Liaise with downstream banking partners to ensure adherence to network rules and compliance standards.
  • Conduct mystery shopping exercises to validate merchant authenticity and practices.
  • Proactively engage with merchants to strengthen fraud-prevention measures and safeguard platform integrity.
  • Balance fraud controls with operational efficiency to maintain healthy transaction success rates.
  • Prepare reports and escalate findings to senior stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the payments acquiring ecosystem (merchant onboarding, risk, or transaction monitoring).
  • Strong understanding of card networks, merchant acquiring processes, and fraud risk management.
  • Experience in working with banks, acquirers, or payment aggregators.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret transaction data and spot anomalies.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, merchants, and banking partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations.
