Associate Director - Global Business Development

We are seeking a dynamic Associate Director – Global Business Development to drive PayGlocal’s international growth. This is a high-impact, target-driven role focused on acquiring global merchants and platforms to integrate Indian payment methods like UPI. The ideal candidate brings experience from leading Indian payment aggregators and has a strong understanding of global commerce and cross-border payments.

What will you be working on
  • Lead global business development efforts by targeting international merchants, aggregators, and tech platforms for strategic partnerships.
  • Drive new business growth for a key and emerging business line at PayGlocal.
  • Own and deliver on revenue and growth targets related to global business development.
  • Identify opportunities where India-based payment methods can unlock value for global merchants.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle—from lead generation and pitching to negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
  • Stay updated on global payments landscape, emerging trends, and competitive intelligence to inform sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth client integration and long-term success
Qualifications
  • Education: MBA in any discipline (preferred: Finance, Commerce, or related fields).
  • Strong passion for cross-border payments and business development.
  • Over 10 years of experience in business development, with at least 3-5 years focused on Cross-Border Sales and expertise in enterprise prospecting.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets, and engaging with all levels of client organizations, including executive and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Extensive sales experience in targeted territories and verticals related to cross-border business.
  • Exceptional skills in negotiation and communication.
  • Strong strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel across the region to onboard new merchants.
